The Peace Café is a learning lab on peace with a focus on strengthening the values of our global family. Its research and public engagement lies within the dynamic overlap of ethics, ecology and education.
This is a resource site dedicated to developing the study
of Peace Ecology. The focus of Peace Ecology is on integrity and compassion as
guiding values to create meaningful human environments. The ‘café’ is used as a
metaphor to harness the power of informal learning and community building.
The founder of The Peace Café is Dr. Ratna Malar Selvaratnam, a peace ecologist committed to bringing peace approaches to human systems. With a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Mississippi, U.S.A. and a Doctor of Education from the University of Leicester, U.K, she has brought her work internationally to Oxford, Manila, Hanoi, and Kochin amongst others, and collaborates with a variety of stakeholders in her home country Malaysia.
